How can I plot my scalar statistics against the corresponding value of an object's attribute over multiple simulation runs?

Solution

You can use an attribute probe to record the value of an object's attribute. This will record the value of the attribute (that was set for a particular simulation run) as a scalar statistic. In order to keep track of a set of scalar statistics as it grows from simulation to simulation, an output scalar file (filename extension .os) is organized into blocks that correspond to simulation runs. You can then plot your other scalar statistics against the value of the attribute for all simulation runs recorded in the output scalar file.Note that you have to record at least two scalar statistics per simulation run in order to plot the value of one against the value of the other for multiple simulation runs. For more information on attribute probes please see the Modeling Volume 1 Manual, Process Domain Definitions chapter and the Modeling Volume 2 Manual, Probe Object Reference chapter.
