How to create custom dashboard in APM with OOTB Metrics and custom metrics combined?

Description
We have default metrics collected by APM and we also have custom metrics which we have enabled. How can we create a single dashboard to combine some of the OOTB metrics with the custom metrics which we are collecting to have single view to monitor?
Solution
APM Agent by default provides several OS level metrics which are presented in the UI as multiple cards. Custom metrics are also included in the Agent which are usually displayed by building custom dashboards.

At times there is a need to add custom metric cards and OOTB OS level/Txn metrics on a same dashboard to get an holistic view of apps/servers etc.
There is no straightforward way to pull OOTB metrics to be added to a card within a custom dashboard.
However we can use the existing cards from UI to build a dashboard that could include custom metrics and OOTB metrics

Steps:
  1. Create a new custom dashboard
  2. Add custom metric card and use metrics which you need
  3. Check all existing cards from UI which you think might provide the OOTB metrics that you need to be in dashboard
  4. Right click on the card name and select COPY CARD

  5. Paste the card on the custom dashboard!
  6. We now have a single dashboard which has custom metric cards and also OOTB metrics
