Issue
We are planning to upgrade our current AppResponse 6000 running version 9.x and we would like to know the storage layout of the appliance once it has been upgraded to AppResponse 11.

Solution
The storage layout on ARX-6000 running version 9.x is as follows

-Mif0: OS, ARX code and historical metric data
-Mif0/1: Real time packet storage & Snapshot buffer

With AppResponse 11:

Metrics are stored on the two RAID volumes created on the HDDs on the head system. We do not use 'Mif0/1' type names anymore
In metprio mode on the ARX-6000, the first controller (there are three total) is used with the four SSDs to store the OS, as well as some of the metrics data (on the data section named "primary_data").

The second and third controllers (each configured with their own 12-disk volume) are used to store the remaining metrics data, as well as packet data. Different types of metrics data is stored on each of the two volumes (which are named "primary_capture_data" and "secondary_capture_data"). The packet storage uses space from both volumes.

If you have EXP-300s attached, they are used for additional packet storage alone (no other metrics are stored on these).
