Issue
Key AppInternals system processes will not start after upgrade to AppInternals 10.12.1 using upgrade ISO image file.
Solution
Some customers upgrading from some prior versions of AppInternals (on-premises) to version 10.12.1 using an Upgrade ISO image file (build 10.12.1.10) previously posted to Support.Riverbed.Com may encounter a situation where key processes (including NGINX and YARDER) might not start after the upgrade is complete.  This situation will require Riverbed Technical Support intervention to correct.  The subject ISO file with the issue has been retracted from the Support.Riverbed.Com web site.  Riverbed SteelCentral Product Development is in the process of developing a replacement Upgrade ISO file to correct the issue.  Target release date for the updated ISO image file is December 20, 2017.

Customers will encounter this issue if the upgrade sequence of their original (fresh installation) of AppInternals Analysis Server began at version 10.4 or earlier.  Customers who began their upgrade sequence at AppInternals Analysis Server version 10.5 or later (as a fresh installation) will not encounter this issue.  There is currently no customer-accessible method to validate the prior upgrade sequence of a subject AppInternals Analysis Server installation.

Further details on the subject upgrade ISO file are as follows:
