Issue

We are upgrading our SteelCentral AppInternals Service Management Platform (SMP) from one patch release of 9 to another patch release and the upgrade is failing with the below error. How do we resolve the issue?

Solution

The above error is happening because the Database user which connects to AppInternals back end database does not have sysadmin privileges on the database.

Please check the user which is connecting to the database from the pdrdbaccess.xml file in the following directory \Panorama\hedzup\smp\config and make sure the user has sysadmin privileges on the database.

This is needed only for the upgrade and you can revoke the sysadmin privilege from the user after the upgrade.
