Issue

After creating a new task under the Automation module, when we click OK, the software throws on of the two errors: Could not create task manager job or User does not have permission to schedule tasks.

Solution

These errors indicate permission issues. Although we might be logged in as an Administrator, the application needs to be Run as administrator. This should resolve the issue.

To always run the application as an admin:

  1. Right-click the application’s shortcut, and then click Properties.
  2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To apply the setting to the currently logged-on user, select the Run This Program As An Administrator check box, and then click OK.
    • To apply the setting to all users on the computer and regardless of which shortcut is used to start the application, click Change Setting For All Users to display the Properties dialog box for the application’s .exe file, select the Run This Program As An Administrator check box, and then click OK twice.
