Issue

Are Administrative privileges needed to run Modeler on Linux / Windows?

Solution

The only feature or module that requires Administrative privileges is SITL. If you are not using SITL, you do not need any Administrative privileges for running Modeler. If you are using SITL, then note the following:- On Linux: To use SITL, you need to run Modeler as root.- 0n Windows: To use SITL, run 'npf' to run Modeler as a non-administrator. See the following instructions:a)Download and install WinPcap on your computer and then, logged in as Administrator, do one of the following to load the WinPcap drivers.b) Use SITL or Wireshark.c) Load the drivers explicitly with the command ' net start NPF 'd) Log in as a non-admin user. You should be able to run SITL.
