Issue

When running a discrete-event simulation, I get the error message:The requested access to a protected file was denied.

Solution

Please be aware that error messages of the form, The requested access to a protected file was denied, occur when certain Kernel Procedures (such as those in the topo and ima packages) attempt to access modules instantiated from a protected model with access level use or none.If these kernel procedures need to be used with a protected node model, the client should be registered with the inspect access level; this will allow the use of the specified Kernel Procedures while still preventing the protected model from being opened in the graphical tool. (Please refer to chapter 5, Security, in the External Interfaces Reference Manual within the OPNET Modeler documentation set.)
