What is a good approach to detecting collisions on a wireless MAC layer?

Solution

Create a statwire from the transmitter to monitor the transmitter's busy statistic. Also create a statwire on the receiver indicating the strength of an incoming packet.For an example of this approach, see OPNET's Wireless LAN (WLAN) models.
