Add License Browser Method

Adding licenses using the Browser method

(OPNET 7.0 and later only)

1. Before using the Browser method, try the Express method.  With the Express method, there is no need to exchange codes, and you can add many licenses to your computer in one operation.  If the Express method fails, or you prefer to use the Browser method, continue with step 2.
2. Start the OPNET License Manager.  On Windows, use the Start>Programs>OPNET...>License Manager.  On UNIX, use the command op_license_manager.

3. In the License Manager, click on the green dot that represents the License Server on the computer where you want to add the license.  Then click on the Add License button on the right side of the box.

4. When prompted, click on the Browser button.

5. The License Manager launches your web browser, ignore that browser window, browse to https://support.riverbed.com. Log in with your username and password and navigate to the OPNET Licenses section.

6. Click on General License Operation from under OPNET Software Licenses.

6. Select Add/Register License and click on the Next button.

7. Back in the License Manager, a dialog box containing a Transaction Code and Hostname field has appeared.

Enter this Transaction Code and Hostname into the browser, then click on the Next button.  You can either paste the text or type it manually.  Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the code or hostname.

8. When the Select Starting License page appears, select the lowest license ID that you want to add to your computer.  If you want to add only one license, select that license.
9. When the Select Ending License page appears, select the highest license ID that you want to add to your computer.  If you want to add only one license, select that license.  The confirmation page appears.
10. When the License Registration Confirmation page appears, check that the information is correct, then click on the Get Approval Code button.  The Approval Code appears.
11. In the License Manager, click on the Next button and enter the Approval Code.  This code can be very long, so make sure you copy the entire Approval Code.  After you enter the Approval Code, click on the Next button.

12. If your OPNET product can have several modules installed, the Select Product Modules box appears.  This allows you to select the modules you want to use.  You can select a module only if you installed a license for it.

13. Exit the License Manager and start Riverbed product.
