Security Finder

You can use the Security Finder to search for security issues and their impact on Riverbed products. This page is continuously updated, displaying the most current public security issues first. The search box can be used to look up records by specific CVE numbers or relevant search word, e.g. Apache, 8.5.0, Workaround. For additional search tips, refer to article S16165. Security issues listed here are categorized into three groups: fixed, workaround recommended and not applicable.

For general security topics, security best practices and other security related topics, try performing a general search.

CVE-2007-6750: Apache httpd Slowloris denial of service (Bug #227277)

CVE-2007-6750: The Apache HTTP Server 1.x and 2.x allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon outage) via partial HTTP requests, as demonstrated by Slowloris, related to the lack of the mod_reqtimeout module in versions before 2.2.15.

Workaround:

Web servers in general can be subject to denial of service attacks that attempt to prevent responses to clients by tying up the resources of the server. It is not possible to prevent such attacks entirely, but one can take certain mitigations to limit the impact. As a mitigation, Apache recommends (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/misc/security_tips.html#dos) using various timeouts and RiOS includes these settings.

Recommendation:

As a good practice, restrict access to the device management (Web UI, SSH etc) using RiOS's "Management ACL" feature where available.
