Security Finder

You can use the Security Finder to search for security issues and their impact on Riverbed products. This page is continuously updated, displaying the most current public security issues first. The search box can be used to look up records by specific CVE numbers or relevant search word, e.g. Apache, 8.5.0, Workaround. For additional search tips, refer to article S16165. Security issues listed here are categorized into three groups: fixed, workaround recommended and not applicable.

CVE-2014-8730 TLS: Incorrect check of padding bytes when using CBC cipher suites (Poodle variant) (Bug #224661)

Details:

CVE-2014-8730: The SSL profiles component in various F5 products, when using TLS 1.x before TLS 1.2, does not properly check CBC padding bytes when terminating connections, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain cleartext data via a padding-oracle attack, a variant of CVE-2014-3566 (aka POODLE).  NOTE: The scope of this issue is limited to the F5 implementation only and is not a vulnerability within the design of TLS 1.x itself.

Not Applicable:

SSL/TLS modules as used in RiOS are not impacted since this is an implementation issue (in F5 products in this case) where the padding bytes are not fully checked in TLS 1.x.
