Description

This article explains why the number of impacted users shown in the dashboard may differ from the count displayed in the Excel export.

Issue

Users may notice a discrepancy between:

  • The impacted user count displayed at the top of the dashboard, and

  • The impacted user count shown in the bottom widget, which can be exported to Excel.

This difference can cause confusion when reconciling incident data.

Solution
  • The dashboard top count represents the maximum number of impacted users recorded at any point during the incident.

  • The bottom widget count (Excel export) represents the final number of impacted users at the time the incident was closed.

  • Both values are correct but serve different purposes:

    • The dashboard highlights the peak impact.

    • The Excel export shows the closing impact.

By understanding this distinction, users can interpret incident data accurately depending on whether they need peak or final impact figures.
