Issue
What are the minimum hardware requirements e.g. CPU, memory and disk space needed to run Virtual SteelHeads (VCX)?
Solution
Confirm that you have the physical resources required for the SteelHead-v model (VCX) you are installing before you download and install it.
For information about the technical specifications for SteelHead-v models, go to this web address: https://www.riverbed.com/resource/data-spec-sheet/steelhead-cx-specsheet/

IMPORTANT:
• Feature-tier licensing is available with RiOS version 9.9.3 and RiOS versions 9.10.1 and later. Virtual SteelHead must run RiOS version 9.9.3 or RiOS version 9.10.1 or later on a supported guest hypervisor. See Riverbed virtual products documentation for compatible hypervisors.
• For information on the SteelCentral Controller for SteelHead, see the documentation for that product under the Documentation tab here: SteelCentral Controller for SteelHead.
• For NIC card support, see the “Network and Storage Card Installation Guide” on the support site "Documentation tab, and Getting Started and Installation Section”.
• Running "show hardware spec " command from CLI console is going to display the hardware information for SteelHead VCX models.
• Old disk size was for pre-9.12.0 releases (9.10.1 and earlier). Size spec got bumped up in 9.12.0 to accommodate a larger /var partition, and further got bumped up by a little in 9.12.1 (STEELHEAD-13249). For simplicity, we assume same new size spec for 9.12.0, 9.12.1 and later releases. Note that new size spec applies only for 9.12.0 (and later) deployments. See SteelHead (Virtual) Installation Guide for more information.
